This tong is used to move two rolls and uses motorized screw drives to support the roll. It is typically fitted with brass liners to protect the roll surface during lifting. This tong can be designed to lift the roll with or without chocks. Chock stabilizers can be added to prevent chock rotation during operation. This lifter is a supporting style lifter. The advantages of this device are minimal headroom requirements and ease of operation. In addition this lifter offers a much safer operation than operations utilizing cables.
